Despite the very chilly winter’s day, we were very pleased to have a good crowd of enthusiastic visitors participate in our Open Day on Saturday 28th July. Visitors were able to see and experience a wide range of the therapies available at our Community Centre. The Kinesiology presentation and the Art Therapy discussion panel were well attended, as were the yoga and meditation sessions and the cooking demonstration.  The Community Centre massage practitioners were the hit of the day, dispensing non-stop free massages. We trust that our visitors had an intereting and informative day and, with the help of one of our free therapy sessions, went home just that little bit more refreshed and relaxed. After a very busy day of applying their soothing therapy, our massage practitioners were in need of a massage themselves!

Adding a touch of musical warmth and colour were James Houston, who contributed a richly textured didgeridoo performance and Tobias Cummings, with an acoustic set of songs from his latest CD. Tobias is a committed supporter of Windana and has donated as Windana’s theme song, the beautiful “Deliver me to the dawn”.   “Giggle therapist” and Clown, alias Simon Meates, provided sparkling entertainment for the young and young at heart.

A huge thank you to the practitioners, staff and students of the Acupuncture Clinic and dedicated volunteers who so kindly gave their time to make the Open Day a success. We were delighted to be able to showcase the wonderful variety of therapies the Windana Community Centre provides to our clients and to the general community.

A very special thanks to the coordinators of the Open Day: Community Centre Manager - Michelle Leber and our Marketing Officer - Fiona Jordan.
