Garden Party

Thank you to all those who attended our Garden Party on 13 March 2008 at St. Kilda. It was a resounding success.

We were delighted to have Tobias Cummings perform his song ‘Deliver me to the Dawn’ which he has now donated to Windana, to promote our work in the community. Middle Park Gallery artist and organiser of the Humanity in Motion Art Exhibition, Elizabeth Stoney, was announced as a new Ambassador, along with Melbourne philanthropist John McLeod.

We held a silent auction for a signed Brett Lee cricket bat and framed photo which raised over $350.00 and went home with two very happy auction winners. The afternoon was very warm and the attendees enjoyed fabulous, fruity mocktails with delicious finger food. Our garden, which has survived the long hot Melbourne summer, was transformed by a giant marquee.

We also launched our Appeal to fund a new home at the Therapeutic Community in Maryknoll. This project is one of our top priorities as it will assist our residents to maintain close ties with their family and allow them to reconnect and continue their rehabilitation process. If you would like to contribute financially, please click here. All donations are tax deductible. Be sure to keep visiting the website, as we will update you on our achievements with this exciting new project.

To all those who attended our Garden Party we hope your evening was enjoyable and we look forward to working with you in the future. Special thanks to Cr Darren Ray, Tobias Cummings for his fabulous performance and our other speakers for the evening. We would also like to thank the staff at the Therapeutic Community for providing the bat and framed photo for the auction and the staff, residents and volunteers who donated their time to assist with the smooth running of the event.
